Ramakrishna Mission Boys’ Home High School (H.S.), Rahara, came into being in 1949 five years after Ramakrishna Mission Boys’ Home, Rahara had been set up in 1944. The school building was opened by Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, the then Chief Minister of West Bengal in 1952. In 1957, the school was upgraded to a Higher Secondary Multipurpose School with four streams viz. Humanities, Science, Commerce and Vocational / Technical Education. The school has been sending up candidates for the earlier School Final Examination, Higher Secondary Examination and also Madhyamik Pariksha since 1976. This institution was adjudged as one of the model multipurpose schools in the State of West Bengal.
